I don’t know much about the Kardashians or Jenners, but I do know a little something about Sinful Colors. Sinful Colors happens to be one of my favorite nail polish brands, and I have used both their regular colors and their SinfulShine before.
With all the hype about the Kylie lip kits, I decided that the nail polishes were something I could give a go. I picked up Kryptonite and Kreme De La Kreme. I am not a huge fan of the nail polishes that are “gel tech” from any brand, but these held up pretty well. The Sinful Shine line is a two step process. The first step is applying the nail color of choice, and then topping it off with the top coat. It doesn’t require any lights to cure or set.
Where normally by the end of one full day of use my nails are severally chipped, my nails were still pretty well intact with these. By day two, my left hand still looked pretty good. There were small chips at the very top of my nails, but nothing major. My right hand, which is my dominate hand, had a bit more wear and tear.
Do they hold up to gel polish? No, at least not for me. Do they hold up better than regular nail polish? I would say yes they do. I got a good two days out of them before they started looking really chipped.
I’m a sucker for a new foundation, especially matte foundations. I have oily skin so anytime I hear that something will give you a matte or soft matte finish I want to try it. I picked up Maybelline’s Dream Velvet Foundation in Coconut, the darkest color. Aside from the lack of range in color, I was pleasantly surprised by this product.
I did a first impression of the product on my YouTube channel. Check it out below for my full thoughts and opinions!
After much debate I made the plunge. I did my second big chop. After searching YouTube and Pinterest I became obsessed with the tapered cut look.
Many people have asked me why I cut it. The one true and simple answer is I was tired of it and lazy. I was wearing it in a terrible bun most days. I was not moisturizing, twisting at night, deep conditioning or anything. I was simply neglecting it. In return it was very unhealthy and had many split ends and knots. I wanted to start fresh and I wanted something low maintenance, at least for a while. So here it is.
If you have any questions about what I am doing to it now feel free to leave a comment below with any questions.

Who doesn’t like free stuff? The answer is no one! Everyone likes to get free things, especially if they are useful things. I was lucky enough to qualify for the Influenster Spice VoxBox.
If you don’t know what infuenster is it is a website where you can review products that you love and potentially get to try out free products like the ones I got. All you have to do is link your social media accounts to the website and be active on the site.
A little run down of what was in this Spice VoxBox:
Boots Botanics Organic Hydrating Day Cream– I typically have pretty oily skin. In the winter time I do get some dry patches around my mouth. I have been using this cream daily since I got it and I must say I do like it. For someone who has oily skin it does not leave me looking or feeling greasy.
Soap Box Shampoo & Conditioner– I’ve used these a couple of times since I have received them. First off they smell really great! The products themselves didn’t wow me, but they got the job done.
Foot Petals Give ’em Boot– I have not used these yet quite frankly because I’m forgetful. They do feel soft to the touch though.
SinfulColors SinfulShine 2-Step Manicure– I was already a huge SinfulColors fan because they are affordable and really great quality. I already had a few of the 2-step Manicure polishes and was not complaining when I received more. Although they don’t last anywhere near as long as a gel manicure, I did feel like they took a bit loner to chip than my normal polish does (which isn’t saying much).
Yogi Tea Samples– I received two flavors, Sweet Tangerine Positive Energy and Vanilla Spice Perfect Energy. I have tried the Vanilla Spice Perfect Energy and it was actually pretty tasty. I was surprised that I felt like I could taste the vanilla hints.
Not Your Mother’s Styling Mousse– This is a product I have not yet tried. I keep saying I am, but I’m actually quite lazy when it comes to my hair. What I can attest to is that it smells delicious!
Veggie Stix– These. Are. My.JAM! I have had Veggie sticks before from different brands, but these are my favorite. I had to practice great restraint with these. They had a great crunch to them and you could have like 80 or something crazy for 120 calories. That’s a lot of snacking! I will purchase these with my own money!
This was a pretty solid box. I got a variety of different things to try and I don’t think anything was especially disappointing. If I had to choose one thing in the box to recommend it would be the Veggie Stix. Try them, you will love them. If you haven’t already go sign up for influenster.com and see if you may qualify for the next VoxBox. You have nothing to lose, it’s free!
I’m a mascara junkie. Well I’m a makeup junkie, but I am a sucker for a good mascara. I struggle with putting on fake lashes, so I’m always looking for a good volumizing mascara. It is not uncommon for me to use multiple mascaras together to get fuller looking lashes. That is exactly how I came across this awesome combo!
The two mascaras I paired together to get my desired look are Miss Manga by L’oreal and The Super Sizer by Cover Girl. Miss manga is pretty bomb by its self so paired with something else makes it just that much better.
Ultimately both of these mascaras are supposed to give the same effect. They are both supposed to add volume to your lashes, but as you can see they have very different wands. Maybe that is why they work so well together to make the perfect lash.
One thing I will suggest when using this combo is using an eyelash comb to help keep the lashes separated. If you want to see a full review and demo, I did post a video over on my YouTube channel! I hope this little beauty hack can help a fellow falsie failure!
i’ve been know to walk up and down the isles of stores looking for things I don’t need. I was wondering around the isles of Dollar General one day and I ran into three natural hair products that peeked my interest. Two have become staples in my hair product collection. I’m pretty sure that the Eco natural Curl ‘N Styling Cocktail is not new, but it is new to me and I LOVE it!
For one, the amount of moisture in the product is amazing. I have been using the loc method when using it and my hair stays moisturized all day which is a true accomplishment for my hair. It has taken my twist out game to a whole new level. Before this product I struggled to get a good twist out. With this product I get a nice twist out that can last me several days.
I did a full review and demo over on my Youtube Channel. Check it out to see the full results of the product!
Makeup gets a bad wrap. Those of us who love it understand it. Those who don’t seem to think it is a weapon of great deception. I assure the skeptics that we are not hiding behind makeup or using it to “make” us beautiful. Sure it can put a little pep in your step when your eyeshadow is perfectly blended and your highlight game is strong, but so can a nice new pair of shoes or outfit.
Makeup does not define me, my beauty, or my confidence. I do not wear makeup for you, my fiance, or anyone else. I wear makeup for me. I love the way it enhances and transforms. I don’t wear makeup everyday because ain’t nobody got time for that, and I like sleep a wee bit more than I like makeup. But when the weekend hits or I have a little free time I enjoy experimenting and creating with makeup.
Trust me, our love for eyebrows and contour are not to deceive you. It actually has nothing to do with you at all. I, like many people, love makeup. It’s a hobby and it makes me happy. I don’t feel like me or any other person should have to apologize for doing something we enjoy. So if you see me on a Saturday with a red lip and a smokey eye midday, it’s not because I “need to”. It’s because I love to.
I love dark lippies year around, but fall gives me an excuse to talk about them! It wasn’t too hard for me to choose my favorites because the are ones I truly reach for all the time. The best thing about these you may ask? They are all under $10.
